Objective:
Implementation of software configuration management
system to reduce the time for releases to
the customer and for effective build management.
To increase the productivity by reducing the
time for early releases and a complete integration
of the various teams located at various geographical
locations.
To build a responsive system with a simple
procedure for updates.
Approach:
The customer domain being telecom, it was
necessary to implement an effective change
management system. This would meet the requirement
for frequency of changes and also establish
effective communication between teams in
different geographic locations working on
the same project.
MicroGenesis created a multi site VOB with
the Rational ClearCase multisite tool, creating
a perfect synchronization between the source
and the destination without any loss of
data at any instance.
Results:
The multisite VOB made the work flow more
streamlined making the change management
process very effective. The time spent for
managing the application development was
reduced resulting in a cost reduction. MicroGenesis
secured additional orders on the same project.
